There’s been a lot of talk lately about the proposed Moapa West project — a major development that could bring new homes, commercial space, and light industrial zoning to our valley. As someone deeply invested in the future of Moapa Valley, both personally and professionally, I wanted to share a few thoughts.
I’m not someone who is against growth. In fact, I believe thoughtful growth can bring opportunity, improve infrastructure, and help our community thrive for generations to come. But growth needs to be done right.
That means it must reflect the values, needs, and desires of the people who live here now — the ones who love Moapa Valley not for what it could be, but for what it already is. Our small-town character, our quiet roads, our open spaces, and our deep sense of neighborliness… these things matter. They are not just scenery — they are identity.
As we learn more about the plans for Moapa West, I truly hope we, as a community, stay engaged. Ask questions. Share feedback. Let’s make sure any new development adds to the quality of life here, not just the square footage.
I’m looking forward to seeing the continued plans and working toward a future that honors our past while shaping a smart, sustainable path forward.
Thanks for caring — and for loving this valley like I do.
